Demil Pibot, aka Hidemi Ishibashi, is an Osaka-based artist who I’ve met on various occasions over the last year or so. We first met at one of her solo exhibitions in 2011 and we both had work in a group exhibition later that year. She paints and sculpts and takes photographs and probably more than that. She is an artist with a unique vision, whose talents have taken her with Osaka’s SoHo Art Gallery to exhibit at an art fair at the Louvre in Paris last fall.

So last summer she came to Ponte M and we chatted about working on a project. The result was something of a unique photo shoot that happened in October last year.

No mollusks were harmed in the taking of these pictures. Neither was Alan Hawley, Canadian model in Osaka and long time friend.
